Senior Minister has opined that working less than the usual eight hours is corruption – Mr. Osafo Marfo says corruption is not only in terms of monetary values, but poor attitude to work that stalls productivity – Our Manifesto.
Senior Minister Yaw Osafo Marfo expresses displeasure on how Ghanaian works lesser hours than he or she is expected.
According to him, corruption cannot only be measured in monetary values only but also peoples poor attitude towards work generally. He noted that poor attitude towards work also cripples the economy and country’s growth.
”If you are to work eight hours and you work 2 hours and you are paid, what is it? Are you not cheating the system?” he said at a stakeholders meeting on Ghana Beyond Aid in Accra. Mr. Osafo Marfo added that working less than the required hours is equal to stealing the company’s resources. “People are supposed to work for eight hours; do people really work for eight hours?” He quizzed. The senior minister also pleaded with workers to exhibit their best behavior at their places to achieve the best for their companies and themselves to shape and develop Ghana. Read more.
He expressed pleasure with the Labour Unions for working hand in hand with government to boost productivity.
