The Metropolitan Chief Executive in the Kumasi Metropolitan assembly (KMA) Hon Osei Asibey on behalf of the entire assembly stated all ongoing projects during his tenure of office in collaboration with the ministry of information.
He lamented that, the program and projects will cover the various Safety and Security , Water and Sanitation, Health Education, Roads and Drains,Tourism, Recreation and Entertainment, development partnership and sister cities as well as government flagship projects.
He said, to create peaceful atmosphere for the citizenry and ensure safety and security of lives and properties in the metropolis, the assembly invested part of its resources in the execution of rehabilitation of the circuit court at KMA. Police and others to have peaceful atmosphere in Kumasi.
He continue that, to equip challenges bedeviling the Metropolis and the scarcity of resources available to meet their pressing needs and wants,the assembly has welcomed, hosted and sustained exchange with delegation from international development partners. Notable among them Agence Franchise de Development (AFD), Water and Sanitation for the Urban Poor,World Bank Group, the EU Commission Delegation, The British High Commission, the Dortmund–Kumasi Partnership for Climate Change. and many more. All these and others have contributed in projecting the city of Kumasi on the international market
According to him,the ongoing projects consists of a 6 unit classroom block with staff common room and ancillary facilities at Duase RC basic school, a 6 unit classroom blocks at Asafo basic school, a 3 unit classroom block at St Augustine Anglican kindergarten school and 3 unit classroom block at Amankwatia KG school, Re-roofing of Buokrom M/A primary and jhs blocks.
‘Road and other developmental projects are ongoing and I will make sure that all the ongoing developmental projects are completed before touching the new ones’ he said.
He then furthered that, In the flagship programme of ruling government led by Nana Addo Dankwa One hundred and one(101) students out of Two hundred and Eighty–seven (287) who were interviewed each students benefited from a scholarship package of Ghc1,000,00 bringing the total amount for the assessment to Ghc101,000.00.
Free SHE, Planting for Food and jobs,1D1F, NABCO and many more millions of people are the beneficiaries he added.
